Incredible images. That first one is awe-inspiring. Thanks for posting them, Carl V. (Your site is awesome, by the way.)

Carl’s Friday Favorite is one of my favorite ongoing blog ‘series.’
OMG! Those are STUNNING!!
I miss seeing that kind of art. I remember finding stuff like that back in the late 70s early 80s…I love the Maxfield Parrish feel of some of them.
I really wonder sometimes if art isnt suffering now because of the clone of a clone of a clone? Considering so many now use Photoshop and other graphics programs to take whats already there and morph it into variations, I sometimes get the “been there, seen that” feeling about a lot of what I see.
Sharon – Maxfield Parrish totally came up for me, too, when I looked at some of those. To me, they’re transportive. I just fall into them – a whole other world. Beautiful!!
Wow. That one little link made me spend a chunk of the afternoon chasing down the Terran Trade Authority books from my childhood. Thanks, I think.
I found Carl’s site just yesterday after looking for an image for a trivia contest (long story), that was 70’s SF cover-looking… it was very surreal to come across this on your blog today!
Thanks Sheila and everyone else. Glad you’re enjoying the Friday Favorites. All I ask is that you enjoy the art…and occasionally buy something from an artist so I don’t get sued. :)
