The Memorial Day Parade

Please assume that every caption for every photo should be: “I love these people.”

The veterans. The high school bands. The cops. The firemen. The ROTC clubs. The Boy Scouts and Girl Scouts. And everybody knows everybody in Hoboken – so there’s a lot of waving, and joviality.

I love parades.

And here they all come!! (Oh, and it was sunset time. So that light glowing on the buildings in the background is not an exaggeration or a Photo Shop trick. It was that magical hour when everything blazes up into utter clarity, shadows take on stark and vivid outlines, and the bricks glow like gold. I was glad that some of that was captured)

The guy in the blue shirt and baseball hat helping to carry the flag is giving you a “WTF?” look.

Loved all the photos… and the “Cheer Dynamics” girls a lot … also I have a strong urge to get my clothes dry cleaned SAME DAY.

hahahahaha I think I need to get a “Hollywood Tan”. As opposed to a Sahara Tan or a Florida Tan.

Ann – see the little cheerleader girl who’s wearing hi-tops? The one in the front – the only one wearing differnt kinds of sneakers. She was so cute – she was telling everybody what to do – the parade had stalled for a bit – so the girls had to stay in position (which is naturally very difficult) – and Little Miss Thing in the hi-tops was full of ideas about how to stay in position while they were on hold. (Naturally, though, she wasn’t staying in position – she was too busy moving about telling everyone what to do.) She was so cute!!

    Hoboken is CUTE, Sheila!

Speaking of cute, that cop who was gesturing toward you and smiling…nice.
