Robert Shaw

I remember that one post a while back where we all discussed Robert Shaw … and so: check out this Diane Arbus photo. He looks like a Clancy Brother. I love it. I have a couple of Shaw films on the Netflix queue – I’m a huge fan.

This will tell you something about what our nightly family dinners are like, but the other night, out of the blue, the four of us broke into a spontaneous recitation of all of Shaw’s best lines from “The Sting” and “Jaws.” I mean, we kept having a ‘normal’ conversation, but just accented every comment with some spicy quote like “oh, to be swimmin’ with bow-legged women.”

    Ya follow?

    I love that! hahaha

  3. JFH says:

“You go inside the cage? Cage goes in the water. You go in the water? Shark’s in the water, our shark?. Farewell and adieu to you fair Spanish ladies…”

I think we all need to crash Jeff’s house for dinner so we can play along.

what creeps me out right now is that so far as i know, jeff and i aren’t related. unless he’s really my brother with a pseudonym. [[cuz we just did that about a week ago; one night was all The Sting, and a couple nights later was yet another Jaws kick.]]

The only proper responses can be “great minds think alike,” and “the party’s at my house!” We just entered the digital cable era at Chez Jeff yesterday, so there are plenty of movies to choose from. For intstance, I was immensely gratified last night to discover that my 12-year old son loved “Hannah and Her Sisters.”

“We usually require a tie at this table…if you don’t have one we can get you one.”

hahaha The kid’s got good taste!
