Writer’s Rooms: Seamus Heaney

The latest in my favorite series at The Guardian – where they give us glimpses of writers’ rooms/studies/workplaces.

Today is a good one – Seamus Heaney.

I like this one, actually – although it’s a bit too light for my taste. It’s light – but it has some friendly CLUTTER which I really appreciate. Anything too clean or sleek or modern makes my creativity dry right up. But still: I am in love with those bookshelves. And I love the makeshift slab of a desk.

I agree with you – a little too light, but still…I’d like to move right in. And the bookshelves – yes. I also love (and covet) the OED.

I knew you’d find this one! I almost posted it myself. I love garetty workspaces.

I love the window — if it were mine, I think I’d like something other than white walls in there. Still, it has great cozy potential!
