Bright Wall/Dark Room is a new monthly movie magazine created by the team at Bright Wall/Dark Room.

The latest issue has journalism as its theme, and they asked me to write on one of my favorite movies ever made, His Girl Friday. I was so happy to comply! Here’s the essay:

  1. One of my favorites also, and for me Billy Gilbert is a standout (in a cast of standouts). His character is so clueless and sweet and principled, and he swipes every scene he’s in. “Oooh, my wife…”
