“You’re Billy Crystal.”

So. My great friend Alex just had another red carpet event. I get excited when I hear about these things – not just because she’s my friend and I’m proud of her – but because I know that whenever Alex is in the presence of a famous person she develops what is known as FPT. Famous People Tourette’s. It’s actually quite tragic.

A couple of examples. She saw Chita Rivera in a grocery store, and was gobsmacked and tried to say “Hello” to this legend of Broadway, but what came out of Alex’s mouth was a blunt statement, said straight AT Ms. Rivera: “Ho.” She called Chita Rivera, a woman who is 178 years old, one of her idols, a “ho”. In the frozen food section. Then there was the other time when she met Stockard Channing on some red carpet somewhere in La-La Land and Ms. Channing was gracious and polite, and Alex KEPT saying Channing’s whole name – no matter the comment: “So nice to meet you, Stockard Channing.” “Well, it’s nice to meet you too, Alex.” “I love your work, Stockard Channing.” “And I’ve seen your work too … it’s lovely.” “Thank you very much, Stockard Channing.” hahahahaha Finally, Stockard Channing realized she was dealing with a lunatic and dissolved herself away into the red carpet. I love Alex because she’s such a powerhouse, but she also has FPT, and such people deserve our sympathy.

This latest red carpet event was no different.

All kidding aside: Kudos, my dear, I’m very very proud of you, your dress was absolutely stunning – and I NEED to see Chrisanne’s outfit!!

I just literally busted out laughing alone in my room at 1- the “ho” comment and 2- you calling Chita Rivera 178 years old.

One time when I was 17 Christina Aguilera and I were shopping at the same record store near Pittsburgh and I calculatingly posted myself at the display closest to the door so I could say something to her when she left, but as she walked by me the only thing that came out of my mouth was “buh-”

Don’t even know what part of what word that was supposed to be.

Patrick – hahahaha “Buh”. Yeah, what was that going to be??

    “Buh-bye Christina”??

It is amazing that Chita Rivera can still sing and dance the way she does, seeing as she is 254 years old.

I’ll see you tomorrow! I’m home now!

Mitchell – I miss you too – it’s crazy how much!!

I haven’t visited Alex’s site in forever, which just makes no sense at all. The woman can literally make a guy fall out of his chair, then break his heart in the next paragraph. Need to get over there asap…
