that I still can actually see her when she is in this predicament … She seems to feel she is invisible and her “hiding” is successful. So when I poke my finger in there at her, she is truly ALARMED that someone KNOWS WHERE SHE IS! But … but … isn’t the inside of this paper bag my whole world? Isn’t it the beginning/middle/end of existence? How can it be that the outside world continues to rotate … when I am so CLEARLY invisible??

Ha ha ha ha! Glamour Puss’s cat does the same thing except it’s under the bed covers. I guess she feels she’s doing a good job, much like Hope. Meanwhile, all you see is a big lump right in the middle of the bedspread. It cracks me up.
That’s it, isn’t it–that they are SO certain they are invisible when they are inside the bag/sheet/covers? Mine lets out a startled “chirrup!?” when I let her know I’ve discovered her hiding place with a gentle poke. It very well could be that she is asking the same “How can it be. . .?” question as “invisible” Hope!
Oh, hooray! The return of the Hope photos! I can sleep in peace. . .
Kerry – I have been VERY lax in putting up Hope pictures!! It’s really a shame because I have, like, 300 photos of her in my files … hahahaha And I have some great shots of her tearing UP that cardboard scratching post!
as you know, little hope virtually camped out in an origins bag the whole time she was staying with me. she made it her home and did some decorating, biting bits and pieces of the paper off and scattering them about the table.
she’d occacionally pop her out head to to assess the savannah of my studio apartment: where were those other four legged beasts, charlie and–more alarmingly–that other one she calls oscar, who seems to be of some non-feline species…ugly looking tail-less thing, he. were they sequestered somewhere or might they be hiding, waiting to pounce the moment she set forth for an adventure? that bag was her den and she stayed mostly there with the exception of a few strategially time forrays into the wild for a good stretch and some sustenance.
funny little creature!
