The Morning Princess Di Died

The beach close to where I grew up. It is dawn here. I remember that that was the morning that Princess Di died. I had set my alarm to go take pictures of the dawn, and then got back in my car at the beach parking lot, turned on the radio and heard the news. The whole morning was strangely surreal.

Gorgeous — how the lights curve around the shoreline, framing it. And how you can barely make out those two shadowy figures strolling along the beach.

I know – RI seriously has some of the most beautiful beaches in the world. I was so lucky to grow up there, only miles away from this.

Don’t you still miss it everyday? And the sound of foghorns?
