Here’s Chuck Berry burning it up on the famous 1964 TAMI Show. The show opened with him, closed with the Stones. And see if you can spot Teri Garr dancing in the background.

There’s a YouTube clip focussing on Teri on the TAMI show:

And a belated Happy Blog Birthday!
The Chuck Berry clip, what an insane, joyous amount of energy. He came to play.
Thanks so much for the clip!!
Teri Garr was a dancer in nine Elvis movies! She has some great stories! My favorite is a director singling her out for criticism in front of everybody – making a derogatory comment about her body – he didn’t even know her name – “You – the fat girl over there – i want you to move to the left …” You know, something awful. And Elvis stepped in and reprimanded the director, “Don’t talk to her like that.” and etc. But there are other funny stories. Elvis wanting to date her roommate, and calling the apartment. Teri being like – “Uhm, Susie (or whoever) … it’s … yeah. It’s Elvis on the phone for you.” “It is?? How can you tell?” “Because. It’s Elvis.”
You can clearly see her in the “Come On Everybody” number in Viva Las Vegas – right behind Ann Margret!
The T.A.M.I. show was some kind of triumph for Chuck. Beside Chuck performing by himself it had Gerry and the Pacemakers, The Beach Boys and The Rolling Stones all doing Chuck Berry covers or derivative songs!
Yes – incredible concert!!
