I saw the hands-down weirdest truck EVER the other day. You know the film, The Field? With Richard Harris? Okay, I saw a truck with pictures and quotes from The Field emblazoned over every inch of it. Er, what? No idea. A big sloppy drawing of a scowling Richard Harris with a big bushy beard and “THIS IS MY FIELD” painted on the side in big gold letters.
I was really afraid the hunt for James Joyce was going to turn out to be like that bus ad. Like, how long was it going to take me staring at that photo until I finally saw James Joyce, only to realize that you were talking about something else entirely and I was a complete dork? Truly, I was afraid and I admit it did take me longer than I would have liked to find Joyce. I almost missed the bus on that one.
James Joyce as Elmer Fudd. Come forth, Bugs, you pesky rabbit, I will relish your inner organs!
“Uhm, no, Sheila, I do not see Jimmy Joyce peeking through the car window. And you’re insane for making me turn a photo of a truck in New York into some kind of Irish literary Where’s Waldo.”
Oh, cool! Great framing too!
Thank you, Curly – it’s such a ritzy area, the Plaza and the St. Regis and then that graffitti-covered truck driving thru – loved it!

Brónagh with a fada even! What the hell! LOL
Carrie – I know! And maybe I’m insane but I see James Joyce at the back of the truck – coming through the car windows. Do you see that??
Of course you are insane and of course I see James Joyce coming through the car windows. What’s really funny is how big his hat is.
Brónagh Nà Mhurchadha, taggin the lorries in NYC, can I get a HELL YEAH agus an phoblacht abú!
Is that the 118B Bus I see comin’ down the pike?
And yes, hahahahaha – suddenly James Joyce is The Man With the (ENORMOUS) Yellow Hat!

Just another morning on Sheila’s blog ;-)
I was going to say something about the streetlights looking like antennae, but James Joyce is way better. And yeah, holy crap, there he is.
But Dave – hahahahaha – Now all I can see is the little bug antennae peeking up over the truck. Hysterical!
Crap the only bugs I can see are the ladybugs on top of the van
To be fair they are pretty big ladybugs
