Tour of bookshelves: The bookshelf on the south wall

This one handled the spill-over of fiction, and then I went full-on to my favorite books in my collection: all of my movie books, and then also my young adult books. That takes up the majority of the space.

The bookshelf in its entirety.

My entertainment biographies. I love that Duse sits next to Eminem. Now there’s a pairing.

My “making of” books, a quickly growing collection.

LOVE your shelves. Amazing set of books! Isn’t it great to see them? I had mine packed away from my move for a couple months, and it was such a relief to have them all out where I could see them.

You have no idea how much GLEE I feel seeing your Twilight books right next to I-Can-Read books. That slays me.

  3. JessicaR says:

I can’t say how much good it does my borderline austistic self to see things in order.

  4. Catherine says:

My neck hurts from craning to the right to read the titles on the spines. So worth it! Your bookshelves are a delight.

  5. Carrie says:

What a wonderful collection! Thanks for sharing – very inspiring.

  6. red says:

Sarah – hahahahahaha I know – how did I work THAT out?? It made sense at the time.

  7. Lisa says:

In “Memoirs,” you need a copy of this.

  8. red says:

Wow – yes, I certainly do.

  9. Lisa says:

Oh, and I can’t look at that third shelf down on the left side. Add that to my list of projects!! :)

  10. red says:

Wait – which shelf is that??

  11. red says:

Oh – you mean that I have books stacked across the top??

Yeah – not sure what to do about that. That shelf needs work.

  12. Lisa says:

It’s a great book. Knowing the “end,” as it were, makes it very bittersweet.

(I lurve Hons and Rebels. I want to be a Mitford.)

(Not a fascist, though. Those Mitfords tend to end up with bullets in their heads.)

  13. red says:

I know – can I be a Mitford without the Nazism, fascism and communism, please? Thanks.

  14. MrG says:

Pretty awesome these shelves and collection!

  15. Lou says:

    Wow. Just . . .Wow.

Have to ask a question that sounds somewhat snide, but I assure you it’s not meant to be: how many of these have you actually read vs. the ones you look at/collected and say to yourself “I’ll get around to it”?

And yes, there is self-projection going on here. : )

  16. red says:

I’ve read most of these. On these shelves, in particular. I’ve read 100% of the movie books – and 100% of the young adult stuff.

In my “adult fiction” I own a lot of stuff I haven’t read yet – because I have to be in the mood for fiction, but I buy books anyway for when I’m in the mood.

  17. red says:

MrG – thanks – my only regret now is that I didn’t capture the chaos of the reorganization with piles of books E-V-E-R-Y-W-H-E-R-E.

  18. Anne says:

    Oh it’s beautiful!

  19. phil says:

    Awesome collection.
Can I come over? I promise to be quiet. But I’d probably break my glasses falling from a top shelf.

    Isn’t Waugh’s Scoop the best?

  20. red says:

Phil – Scoop is definitely in the top 5 funniest books I have ever read in my life!!

  21. Tommy says:

Cannot tell you how much I’m enjoying the tour….

  22. otherstevie says:

Only one John Green? If you liked it, you should totally read An Abundance of Katherines.

  23. red says:

    Yeah. Only one John Green.

    I have 3000 books. I can’t have them all.

  24. Kinezoe says:

A very interesting bookshelf. I wish I could get some of the titles I saw… I think I would have to order them like importations here where I live…

Greetings from the Old World, Sheila!
