Awesome: some screengrabs from Saturday Night Fever‘s iconic opening sequence. Funny, looking through that, I realize that I know almost every shot by heart, without even trying. That unforgettable strut! The music! The gritty streets. Classic.

im obsessed with opening credits…fave? Nashville..of course.
What always gets me about this sequence is how it establishes so much of the movie in two or three minutes of credits — the dirty and gritty surroundings Tony Manero has grown up in, the fact that he’s confident enough to hit on any woman he sees but not quite skilled enough to be successful at it, and the way his underlying insecurity is displayed in a throwaway moment nobody notices: his momentary indecision as to how many slices of pizza to order at that window-service pizza joint.
Awesome…I am glad you enjoyed the post and thanks for providing the link back. I love this sequence, and film, so much and I was happy to pay tribute to it. Thanks again!
