Got this from Annie … or “superfast”! I love your book cover, annie – hahahahaha
Your challenge is:
Go to the advanced book search on Amazon, type your first name into the Title field, and post the most interesting/amusing cover that shows up.
And here’s what came up for me. HOORAY!!!!!
Otherwise Known as Sheila the Great – by Judy Blume!!
(Although I’m not wacky about that new and “improved” book cover! I searched for another cover – the one I remember – and can’t find it. None of the new ones give a feel for that book at all!)
Excerpt from the book here – one of my favorites as a kid.
The first thing that came up when I did that was a book by someone named Brock Clarke called An Arsonist’s Guide to Writers’ Homes in New England. I have no idea why – the rest of the results were 50 different publications of Wuthering Heights, which at least makes sense.
Oh my God, i kinda need to read that arson book – it sounds hilarious.
Or criminal.
Or both.
It’s a pretty cool title for a book. I’m kind of curious myself.
Not necessarily the most amusing or interesting, but certainly the most appropriate given my career field: Layout Workbook: A Real-World Guide to Building Pages in Graphic Design.
Here’s mine.
Boooooring.
using my blog nickname, all I get are unauthorized biographies of Ricki Lake. Bleaugh.
Using my real name, I get the author of Fear of Flying and also a famous British needlepointer.
Emily….maybe the arson-writer staked out Miss Dickinson’s home for especial treatment?
I searched for another cover – the one I remember – and can’t find it.
We’re about the same age and I remember a particular version. This so-so picture is the only one I could find.
