Happy Presidents Day from ….

Being an ignorant Brit, I’ve just had to google Presidents Day to remind me whose birthdays you’re celebrating. Lincoln’s and Washington’s of course! Somewhat spookily, at the moment I’m reading The Final Years of Marilyn Monroe by Keith Badman. Monroe revered Lincoln and had told a reporter that she felt that Kennedy “would be another Lincoln.” Unfortunately she was proved right, at least in one respect.
Abigail – yes, she loved Abe Lincoln so much and read as much about him as she could!
I haven’t read the book you mention – any good?
Hi Sheila, It’s 10.15 pm here. Hope you’re having a good afternoon!
The book I’m reading is ok, although certainly not brilliantly written. The author’s main aim seems to be to want to debunk all previous reports of Marilyn’s last few months with exhaustive accounts of her and Robert Kennedy’s respective whereabouts towards the end of her life. He doesn’t wear his research lightly and it’s getting a little trying, to be honest! I also think I’ve read as much about Something’s Got to Give as I could possibly ever want to know.
Abigail – Ha, I know what you mean about Something’s Got to Give!!
Those last few months of MM’s life could certainly use some debunking – I’ll check it out, even if it’s tiring. Thanks!
