I hadn’t realized how much I NEEDED to see David Duchovny line-dancing until it happened.

And now I can’t live without it.

THE BEST THING EVER. The way they just kept rolling with it and David Duchovny was all in. I’m still laughing about this.

I now need to see it every day just to keep my mood-level up.

The back-flip? SO STUPID SO FUNNY.

      • sheila says:

and Lauren Ambrose ruled with her wise-crack-deadpan-snippity-screwball line readings.

        • Paula says:

I loved her! At first, I thought it was going to be some kind of cheap laugh at a parallel (how could anyone balance out Mulder like Scully?) but she just threw herself into it too . By the end, I wanted a spin off so bad. Give me more Einstein!

          • sheila says:

And I loved her partner too! Great chemistry. You could tell he was in love with her. And a little bit scared of her too. Ha!

            Yes: spinoff!

  2. sheila says:

Directly into the camera: “WOO WOO!!!”

  3. Paula says:

That he would hallucinate Skinner cracked me up. His ex-Marine Corps oh so serious boss drinking and partying

  4. Lyrie says:

And Frohike and Langley! That was so moving to see them in the midst of that ridiculous dream/hallucination!

It was beyond awesome! This is why I love x-files so much! So here’s my question to you. I keep vacillating. Did she really give him the shrooms and lie to Skinner or did she give him a placebo and he sent himself into a line dancing, psychedelic state? Either way is brilliant. What do y’all think?

Did anyone watch his Manson series last summer, Aquarius? There was a drugged sequence in that, obviously minus the humor. Duchovney plays that well.

    • sheila says:

I vacillate too. I tend to think she really gave him the shrooms and then lied to Skinner.

      So much fun.

Loved the Wizard of Oz “and you were there … and you were there … and you were there” thing going on when he woke up.

  6. Dan Heaton says:

Yes! I loved just how dorky Duchovny was in this scene, especially with all his silly faces walking down the hallway. And Pileggi makes the most ridiculous expression as Skinner too! Just a brilliantly funny sequence.

  7. Lyrie says:

Sooooo. I suppose there will be a season 11? :)

    • Paula says:

We just watched the finale last night. Good to know that after 10 years, nothing has changed. They still like to end seasons messy and crazy. Better be season 11 :) just to bring back Robbie Amell and Lauren Ambrose. I love those two.

I hate these super short seasons like British shows. I get that it allows them to do a project like this with minimal commitment. I get in a rhythm and then it’s gone. I’m losing xfiles, Agent Carter, War and Peace, and Downton Abbey :( I’m already late on Vikings and have 2 more months til orphan black. It’s so long til next season. I get distracted by other new shows. With shows on tv, premium channels, bbc america, netflix, amazon, it’s overload. Too bad so much of the regular programming is crap. I guess it’s the natural progression for these non traditional shows to fill the void of lackluster traditional programs. It’s partly my fault for bingeing. The way we watch is changing.

CHANGE. Do not want. Yes I do. What?!? Bring on the alien triangle space ship…
