Question for Pink

Okay, so let’s just say that I accept your hypothesis that God is a DJ. Okay. Fine.

But if what you say is true, does it necessarily follow that life will be a dance floor, love will be a rhythm, and I will be the music? Can it really be that simple?

Sheila, surely you’ve been to a gay dance club. If not, do so and your questions will be answered. Speak to the young man in the Abercrombie cut off t-shirt, 7 Jeans, and Diesel sneakers. (He will be there. He’s ALWAYS there.)He will guide you along the path to techno enlightenment.

Patrick: I will keep my eyes open for the gentleman in question. I know EXACTLY who you are talking about.

I also love that in her “Thank You” sections on her liner notes, she always thanks “the troops, for making sure we have all these freedoms we take for granted” – variations on that theme.

I’d like Pink’s music if she was literally a pinko-commie – I don’t care about the political convictions of people who write kick-ass dance songs – but I do like that she always makes sure to thank the troops.

    Hi Sheila,

Just out of curiosity, do you have any opinions about what God is? I have a mathematician friend who insists that God is a partial differential equation, one of whose solutions is the universe, but I never could buy that.

Bryan: I have many opinions about God. I should do a post about it, I suppose. God is in my life, woven into the fabric of it … so I can’t really say what I think it is in an intellectual way.

I posted a while back on the definition of grace … got a lot of great comments on that one. To me, the key to God is in moments of what we might call grace.

It’s intangible, but you know it when you experience it.

Interesting… I’m a Buddhist myself, which is a non-theistic religion, but I would very much like to read more of your thoughts on this.

I do like Pink. The girl is talented, she has a lot of spunk and she’s not completely pre-fabricated like the majority of today’s pop stars. It’s not really my kind of music, but I don’t flip the channel when she comes on the radio (most of my radio listening consists of flipping through one woefully crappy song after another until I find a station that’s on a commercial break).
