Supernatural: And we’re back

I have been so bad about keeping up with comments the last two weeks. Lots going on. I will come back and comment when I have time to dig in. Same with this post. Have at it!

I will be damned! This show can still surprise me. For those that haven’t seen it yet, I’ll keep my comments to my self until tomorrow.

I was pretty meh on the episode, except that the bunker extras have been wiped out – a positive in my book. However, some viewers on other sites have brought up a good question: Now that Jack is all powerful again (strong enough to kill an archangel and presumably all other creatures), what is there for the Winchesters to do?

Ugh. I thought this one was awful. That’s it? After all the season long build up, all the pain, Billie’s dire predictions, Dean’s farewell tour , and all the heartbreak and anguish from Sam…..and suddenly, suddenly Michael is leaving Dean, possessing Rowena, and getting defeated by Jack…in less than 30 minutes considering that the first half was spent on a (pretty awful MOTW). Seriously????!!

The only redeeming part of the episode was the death of Maggie and the other AU hunters. (Pretty sure that wasn’t what show was going for but oh well). Thanks Michael, you did us a solid.

I didn’t even like the directing and I’m not one that always notices things like that. Those initial back and forth shots between Sam and Rowena and Dean, Cas, and Jack on the couch honestly made me wonder if Jared and Ruth were even on set with the other 3 at first. I’ve never had directing pull me completely out of the story before but that completely did.

Anyway, guess I’m being an episode Debbie Downer. I am going to watch it again with my hubby later. Maybe I’ll have better thoughts on rewatch but I’m kind of doubting it.

I liked it. To be honest, I don’t expect much from SPN lite, these days, so I usually record it and watch the parts at my leisure.

They killed everyone else in the Bunker. Maggie and the rest of the nameless Scooby gang are dead. Hallelujah! Now they just have to get rid of Mary, fake Bobby and Dead Lucifer/Nick.

I liked the bad guy. He different from most MOTW. Gay, picking up guys at truck stops. So slimy.

But there are six more episodes on tap and the big bad is gone. So has the CW solved it’s desperate desire to create a Supernatural spinoff starring Jack-Jack and Edna clones? They become the new and improved Winchesters when J2 decide to retire?

Yeah on rewatch I found the MOTW amusing in a slimy way. I think it was the eyeball eating that got me first go round. That wigged me out. Decapitation? No probs, but eating eyeballs? BLECH!! LOL!!

I still hated it second go round though. Still grateful to Michael for killing the AU hunters.

Excellent Dean whumpage in this one, so much so that I FREAKED OUT when his head was bashed into that wall twice, and he didn’t come to. The rest of it was meh.

The Bunker BunchTM is dead, hallelujah!

The previews for next week look interesting. Reminded me of Pleasantville, which could be a great premise, depending. I realize it’s smarter to have no expectations, but I can’t help myself—it looked really good!
