Last line

In the first case it was necessary to renounce the consciousness of an unreal mobility in space and to recognize a motion we did not feel; in the present case it is similarly necessary to renounce a freedom that does not exist, and to recognize a dependence of which we are not conscious.

    Clue:

    i don’t even know what to say. A massive accomplishment. Enormous. Deep. Rich. Intimidating. Probably one of the greatest books ever written. I had to put it down on occasion, just to process it all.

    That’s not a very good clue. It’s too subjective.

    I’ll think of another one.

    Okay…I apprarently don’t read enough of the classics. And apparently this one is available in its entirety online. And its waaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaay too long to be reading off of a computer screen.

    Once again I had to google, so I’ll refrain from responding.
