   Would the clue be in the quote? As in Roddy Doyle’s Paddy Clarke – – – … or is Mr Doyle persona non gratis with all Joyce fans? ;)

   I love Paddy Doyle, his Joycean raving notwithstanding.

   But this isn’t Paddy Doyle.

   Hmm, this one might be too bizarre.

   The author won the freakin’ Nobel Prize for Literature, though. If that gives you a clue of his stature.

   My friend Mitchell KEEPS telling me to read this book – he thought it was one of the weirdest and best books he had ever read – but I haven’t gotten around to it yet.
