Only place I know where Yahoo is used (besides the Nasdaq) is Jonathan Swift’s “Gulliver Travels.” Yahoos were the brutes that slaved for the horse-race.
(That’s right… there was a letter at the end of the book. I may have to read this again soon!)

That should be “dwell” in that quote, not “swell”.
