And here is one of the many reasons why. (Other reasons? Ryszard Kapucinski, Czeslaw Milosz , Zbigniew Herbert and Lech Walesa to name just a few.)
The chick at the Polish tourist office said: “We decided the best response was humour.”
And that right there is why I love Poland.
I have never been prouder to be Polish-American than at this moment :-)
Isn’t that poster hilarious???
I just love that they decided to handle the whole thing with intelligent mockery. Love that!
Go Poland! :)
Who all wants to go to Poland now?
I’ll go … I want to meet that plumber.
And that right there is why I love Poland.
Well, that. . .and pierogies.
Mmmmmm, piergoies.
It looks like the Poles missed another “perfect opportunity to shut up”. I’m glad they did.
Да здравствует Польша.
That actually brought a tear to my eye, it was such an appropriate response! And that is a seriously cute plumber. Maybe I’ll rethink my own vacation plans.
Hilarious.
Hey, any time a country can promote itself in a funny way AND twit a group that’s been unfairly dissing it, I’m there.
I seriously love that ad. That’s great. (And I seriously love that plumber. I’d like to have him on speed-dial instead of the sweaty, butt-crack-displaying guy I usually get)
Oh, I’ve been wanting to go to Poland forever. I’ve gone on some nearly Red-level jags of reading Polish history in the past, and the place fascinates me.
And forget the plumber; Slavic women in general shut down the part of my brain that deals with reasoning and consequences.
You know, when you think “sense of humor,” Polish doesn’t immediately spring to mind. But actually, when I visited, they were some of the nicest and slyly funny people I met in Europe. Visit Warsaw, it’s absolutely beautiful.
