Apparently I have missed something HUGE, according to last night’s episode:
Lisa’s brother in law? She was having an affair with him? He might have killed her?
When the hell was THAT revealed??
I do remember in the first episode this season when Nate and Brenda were watching the wedding video and there was a brief shot of Lisa, before the wedding, obviously having an intense altercation over to the side with her brother in law. I remember wondering: Huh, wonder if that will become important later on …
But … obviously it has, and I missed the revelation moment.

I was confused too, but my roommate said that subplot happened last season….
It was the last episode of last season. I think he confessed to Nate, but I’m not sure.
Last episode last season: When Nate confronted him and placed him and Lisa together near where Lisa washed up, he decided to blow his own brains out rather than admit he was having an affair with her to his wife (Lisa’s sister) and maybe even killed her.
Hmmm. I saw the last episode of last season and I don’t remember a confession. I do remember that Nate confessed that he had buried Lisa out in the desert, and all hell broke loose – and Lisa’s sister came over to Nate’s house and made all kinds of wild threats.
I am really curious as to this thing that I have missed.

It was the season finale and it was an excellent episode. That event came completely from left field and I had to wonder what the guy was thinking going for custody of Maya. Now I’m wondering if Maya might be his because of the how that pregnancy went down and I think Nate just took Lisa’s word for it.
I think I have it on tape and if you want it I’ll send it to you. I was going to write a spec, but then I got addicted to Nip/Tuck – oh so addicted, so now I’ve got both seasons and I’m trying to figure out a story.
susie – wow. So the one that I thought was the final episode obviously wasn’t. I watched it on HBO on Demand … and I thought it had said season finale. There was a scene where Lisa’s sister shows up at Nate’s house and they have a horrifying fight in the front yard about how Nate buried Lisa in the desert.
Now I’m really confused … was that from last season, or this season??

Okay, I completely missed it.
I’ll dig out the tape and look at it but I’m pretty sure that Nate and the sister in law had the huge screaming fight about him burying Lisa in a hole in the ground and substituting unclaimed cremains that the family put in their crypt. As a result of that incident, which put Nate’s funeral director’s license at risk, Lisa’s sister and her husband were going for custody of Maya. Nate figured out that Lisa was having an affair, and with who, I forget how – something about the Doctor Pepper – and went to confront the brother in law and…
It was one of the best episodes ever just because I never saw it coming. Horrifying, but great drama. And I can’t help but wonder what ever happened to Lisa’s creepy little neice who gave David the copy of the book Stiff?
It reminds me of Elizabeth Roehm’s adieu from Law and Order, and a quote heard about the whole, confusing ‘where did that come from and when did I miss it?’:
“Is it because I’m a lesbian?
Or a bad thespian?”
