Yes! In my opinion, he and John Garfield are the best things in that movie!

Instead of Carol Burnett, perhaps he’s channeling St. Nicholas:

“And laying his finger aside of his nose,
And giving a nod, up the chimney he rose;”

Not channeling anything really. I like this because it is unconscious on his part. He does it when he’s listening and thinking at the same time. That’s what happens automatically. Not so much a “tell” as a natural expression. Happens without thought behind it or choice: the best kind. I had noticed it already in QL but when I saw it show up in the movies he made when he was a kid I was delighted! We are who we are early.

    Oh, this is so great!
