“If You Ask Me Where I’m From ….. BOSTON.”

I love this guy. He’s one of my favorite current singer/songwriters. The drums are a bit loud in this clip, but I like the energy of this particular live show. Here he is singing the same song at Newbury Comics in Boston. I have been nonstop busy since I returned from LA (first a road trip to Williamstown to see Sam Rockwell as Stanley Kowalski in Streetcar – and then getting ready to go away again next week), and for some reason this song has been what I am drawn to. I keep listening to it. I can’t stop.

Michael asked me, “So what’s your play about?” I said, “Oh, my usual themes. Poignant love, hot sex, and an eventual renunciation of happiness.” He will now reply with, “So is it about me?” in T-minus 9 seconds.

You know. The usual.

I’ve lived all over the place. But if you ask me where I’m from …..

Well, I wouldn’t say Boston, although I was born there, but I know that attachment to place.

Took a long drive today through the Hudson Valley, listening to it, and letting my mind roam. Thoughts, plans, dreams, memories, all that. Lots to process from the last week. I’m just now coming down.
