And he couldn’t hook a cousin up with some tickets?

    What’s up with THAT?

  2. red says:

There are too many of us. hahahaha

My cousin kerry is singing the national anthem at Fenway in September – and I really need to buy my tickets for that NOW because they can’t just hand out 40 tickets to all the O’Malley cousins. hahahahaha

  3. Lisa says:

You know, I thought that two seconds after I hit “post” — how many cousins can he be expected to hook up!?! Dumb, Lisa

I keep forgetting how prolific you O’Malleys are. :)

  4. red says:

    We’re by-the-book Catholics. heh heh

i just can’t get over the coolness and awesome-ness of that photo. What a moment it must have been!!

  5. Mr. Bingley says:

    Wow, that’s awesome!

  6. Alex Nunez says:

Jeezus H. Chee-rist on a popsicle stick, Sheila. What, do you O’Malleys have naked pics of Lucchino or something?

That’s pretty awesome, and I’m coming from the other side of the Yankee/Sox divide.

  7. red says:

It’s just the coolest thing. He was BORN a fan of this team – as we all were in my family. And then to have that moment … I can’t wait to hear about it.

  8. Cullen says:

I’m not even a baseball fan and that is awesome.

  9. Jayne says:

That is the coolest thing in the world.

  10. tracey says:

May I say how adorable I think he looks in that picture? That expression.

BTW, how’d he do on the pitch? Any word? ;-)

  11. red says:

    It truly is.

It’s the kind of thing where you would so want to be in the moment enough to appreciate WHAT IS HAPPENING … but it would go by so fast …

  12. red says:

Oops – my comment was to Jayne!!

  13. tracey says:

I’m sorry, Sheila. My question was stupid. Just that moment IS enough. Nothing else matters.

  14. Ken says:

Not at all, tracey. Every one of us who dreams of getting the chance to throw out a first pitch also dreams of snapping off a knee-buckling curve or whistling in a first-class heater. Me, I’d have to throw the curve–my heater ain’t never whistled (wheezed is more like it). ;-)

It is an awesome thing. In a just world, red’s chance will come one fine spring day.

  15. jean says:

For all of those wondering, Jerry Remy and Don Orsillo said that Mike’s throw was a strike! Pretty much the greatest thing in the whole world, I think…

  16. jean says:

Anyone have any idea how we could get a replay of the actual throw?

  17. red says:

Jean – let me ask David if he taped the game – he might have.

  18. red says:

Also – a strike?? hoo-yah!!! Best moment EVER.

Hey – I’m coming home this weekend. Will you be around?

  19. red says:

Oh tracey – your question wasn’t stupid! I was just going off into my own reverie of what such a moment would be like. MOMENTOUS!!! :)

  20. Alex Nunez says:

Sheila, if there is video, you need to get it up on YouTube, like, stat.

  21. Dave J says:

Wicked awesome! Go Sheila’s cousin Mike! Go Sox! :-)
