My friend David is the guy in the kilt in this short Guinness Black Lager spot, which you’ve probably seen already. It’s been in heavy rotation all over the place, leading up to St. Patrick’s Day. This short little spot is really funny. Too bad you can’t see David’s face, but I would recognize his thighs anywhere. That sounds weird. I love the different responses of the two guys behind him. David came over last night bearing some Guinness Black Lager, which was delicious. I was so wrapped up in a project that I didn’t hear him pounding on my door to be let in. POUNDING. And the door bell has gone bust because of the fire. He called me. I didn’t hear that. Thank God I finally came to my senses out of my project, realized David was about 15 minutes late, and called him. I heard his voice: “Hello??” I heard the voice coming from out of my phone, but I also heard it out in my hallway, right beyond my door. Poor man had been out there 10 minutes. And it’s still pretty messed up out there because of the fire. There stood David. He had busted open a Guinness Black Lager while he waited and tried to figure out what the hell he would do if I just never opened the door.

Ha! Many tributes to creativity here: the funny commercial, your being engrossed in your project, and David’s problem-solving (“well, I’m not in the door yet, but. . .”).
IMHO Black Lager is quite tasty.
