Audra McDonald: A Raw Nerve

This is kind of an amazing review/analysis of the raw nerve and yet also the technical virtuosity of Audra McDonald’s voice. She’s a phenom, no doubt about it. I’m sorry I missed this show – I so would have gone had I been here. I love the idea of an evening of American songbooks, too. Marvelous.

It was a Live From Lincoln Center performance, so keep your eye peeled for a rerun on PBS. It will certainly be used during pledge week. Also, I’m pretty sure it was one of those performances restricted to BIG donors.
P.S. Charlie (the horse) is coming to the track from his training farm later this month. His official name is Now Pippin.

Nice review, thanks for the link. I love Audra McDonald, I wish I had more opportunities to see her. We don’t get a whole lot of live theater in the middle of Kansas, so my exposure to actors only comes if they’re in tv or movies.
