After The Thaw

Mitchell and I became FAST friends at age 19. Then we had a “bad time” which lasted 3 months, and where I was a totally cold bitch. Then came the thaw, and after that – we became obnoxiously close. Inseparable. Later, we laughed about it – how people in the theatre department must have been like, “Guys … you’re not the first two people to discover friendship … please get over yourselves.”

But we couldn’t!!

We jitterbugged constantly. We knew one routine – and we did it over, and over and over … complete with the choreographed bow. Like whether or not the music had come to an end – we HAD to do our bow, because that was the only way we knew how to end it.

Here we are in the act. This was after the thaw. As you can tell by my big red cheeks – which are also indicative of the summer, and also clearly show the effects of my jolly shame-free underage drinking. I love love love this photo. I miss those earrings.

And Mitchell – didn’t you have a flirty-flirt going on with the guy in the background watching us? That makes me laugh. I am reading into his expression … like: Sigh. When those two stop their freakin’ jitterbug, maybe I can finally get some Mitchell face time.

Umm…… is it just me or does the guy in the background look like an axe murderer? At least on my screen it looks like he is wearing a ski mask……

  6. red says:

beth – hahahaha You can’t really see his face – his head is down, but he’s looking up and straight forward at us …

It’s hysterical to think of him an axe murderer – because as I remember him, he was this gentle sweet boy – with a beauuuuuutiful singing voice. Right, Mitchell?

  7. mitchell says:

yes…wasnt he the closeted gopel singer/piano player who lived in a fraternity??? Didn’t Betsy come to that cast-party???

  8. red says:

Yes, he was singing gospel music in his frat room as Jim S. was spritzing his bangs down the hall.

    WTF???? hahahaha

And yes – Betsy did come! That’s right – that was such a wild fun party.
