Snapshots

Random photos and stuff. Things I think look kinda cool.

Tense stressful day ahead.

I think The Quiet Man arrives today. I’m alternating between Woody Allen and John Wayne, and it suits me perfectly.

Reading The Arabian Nights. The Richard Burton translation – which has a flowery Arabic FEEL to it and I love it. I read a couple pages a day. It’s all I’m fit for right now. Now I know why generations of schoolchildren are literally swept away by the magic carpet ride herein. You just are transported to another world. And you NEED to know: “But what happens next??”

Breathe. Don’t forget to breathe.

Dinner with Ted tonight.

Stuff I’ve seen.

I like John Wayne’s funny movies and his fights where everybody is against everybody =]

  2. red says:

Ha – my favorite fight is actually in The Quiet Man – I can’t wait to see it again. Talk about everybody against everybody!!

  3. Jayne says:

    Oh I love that movie!

    “Wipe yer muddy boots!”

    “Come a’runnin’? Come a’runnin!”

“When I drink water, I drink water, and when I drink whiskey, I drink whiskey.”

    “He died in Australia…in a penal colony….”

I can’t think specifically of any more – it’s been so long since I’ve seen it I’m afraid I’ll misquote it…but I’ve just been sitting here with scenes running in my head…I have to see that again soon, I think.

“I’m alternating between Woody Allen and John Wayne, and it suits me perfectly.”

I cannot even tell you how much I love that sentence.

  5. Lisa says:

    Ah, Tiffany’s. The mothership.

I’m vaguely frightened of that Apple store.

  6. red says:

Lisa – I’m kinda scared of it too. Especially at night – because all the glass goes black, but the Apple stays lit up – so it looks like it’s this disembodied thing floating in the air. hahahaha

And those Tiffany’s windows!! Amazing, right?

  7. red says:

Jayne – I believe the first time I saw that movie was at your house!!

  8. red says:

    Emily – hahahahaha

A little Duke, a little Wood-man, a little Duke, a little Wood … All’s right with the world!

  9. tracey says:

Love the light hitting that Tiffany’s window.

And the strange little counterpoint of the skull and crossbones motif on the — what, scarf? — in the background.

    Hahaha. Look at your screensaver.
