I know where this sign is!!! its in Inglis, Florida! I used to live in Crystal River, FL just down the road, and this sign marks the intersection on the other side the bridge over the ship channel and the Withlacoochee River on US Hwy 19 going north. Its a nice place, too, very small and off the tourist track, alas no real beaches to speak of.
That movie, “Follow that Dream,” changed my opinion of Elvis when I watched it about ten years ago. The story’s kind of hokey, but Elvis buys and sells his part so completely that it is captivating.
Yeah, great flick. He’s great in it.
I love that movie so much…..that, I have always wanted to see that………… small section of beach ……..where the bulk of movie was filmed. Elvis really showed his acting and comedic talent ‘chops’ in that movie………..with ease! So much so ….that one only sees a man named …Toby! ‘Follow That Dream’ has always been my all time favorite! Too bad , the ….so called movie critics…..were sittin’ on their hands…..among other things!!
Clementine – totally agree. Elvis is great in it, creates a very real character (he is NOT just playing himself – Elvis was much smarter than Toby!) – I love the scene where he doesn’t realize that it looks like he is trying to rob the bank, and he is so baffled as to why everyone is terrified.
Also, love the title song!!
Ditto….Sheila!
