    Perfect.

I love those mugs, and that lamp!! So beautiful.

    The whole desk/chair/lamp/laptop/facing the window – it’s so…you.

    Congrats on the new things.

Jayne – it is me, isn’t it?? I’m so thrilled with my purchases.

  3. Ceci says:

WOW – that LAMP!! It’s to die for!!!!

And I love that desk, too, it looks so much like my grandfather’s huge desk from the ’30s which I adored as a child. I also find the wood color of the table and chair wonderful (my own furniture is of that wood color!).

Congratulations on your new “things” – they go perfectly together. That little corner before the window looks so inviting!

Ceci – I love the lamp too! I got it at Target (do you have that in Argentina??) – basically a big department store, so I feel like I lucked out. It was cheap and it has the LOOK I want.

My apartment is so small – basically a ROOM – so I feel like I have now created a work space for myself, almost like it’s a room within a room. Love it!!

  5. Jayne says:

And I’m thrilled with your purchases FOR you! They’re so important!!

  6. Ooooooooooooooh! I love it all! I particularly heart your Target lamp. It’s so nice. They have the best things.

As someone who recently rehabbed my furnishings, I can so relate to your excitement. It’s the best!!! I planned, plotted and moved things around in my small space. When everything fell into place, I couldn’t stop staring at it all. I know it’s just stuff, but the selecting and arranging is all very personal and it feels like a real achievement when it all comes together just so.

I have my paperwork in on an apartment nearby so, with any luck, I’ll soon have a new space for all my new crap and I’ll be planning and arranging all over again, perhaps with a few new pieces thrown into the mix. And I KNOW I’ll feel exactly the way you do right now. :)

    Enjoy your pretty new things!

That looks awesome!!!!!!!! You really needed a place for working, and the desk is perfect!! Can’t wait to see it “in real life”……..

I love everything!! How the light comes in through that window onto your new table — which is beautiful, by the way. Gorgeous lamp, too. It all seems so homey and cozy. Congratulations!

(I love that framed black-and-white photo on your table, too.)

  9. red says:

Tracey – that’s Cashel as a new born!!

  10. melissa says:

I too am loving your desk area!

  11. Kate P says:

Everything looks as if it belonged together before you even put it together. Your cross on the windowsill is beautiful. (That mug *is* pretty.)

So does this qualify as a new “Happy Place”?

  12. mere says:

ooooh very nice!! I love the mug and the lamp especially..beautiful!

  13. red says:

Curly – Oh God, keeping fingers crossed for you about your apartment. I know how stressful such things are – hope you get it!!

  14. red says:

Kate P – Yes! It’s about time I have a “happy place” that, you know, actually exists in my own apartment!

  15. Sal says:

Remember when you did a few posts from some UK magazine (paper?) about writer’s workspots? Now you’re in the series.
This is lovely, and we would all recognize it as yours, instantly.
    Experiencing total mug lust.

Ion Television is showing “Quantum Leap” in syndication, if it’s available in your area.

  16. Jen W. says:

    oh that lamp. need one!

  17. Kate P says:

That’s it: Sheila’s REAL LIVE Happy Place!!!

Aside to Sal: Oooh! What time does Quantum Leap air???

  18. red says:

Sal – Love it! But I (naturally, because I’m insane) own the entire series so I can watch it whenever I want.

Which reminds me … I should get cracking on my re-cap of Episode 5 soon!!
