Holy Crap. That was amazing. For some reason, I love Bert in general because he’s such a rules-follower like me, but especially in this video. He seems so serious the first time through, like he’s really studying the letters and Patti’s melody and brilliant performance. Then he lets LOOSE the second time through. I had to remind myself he is a PUPPET. This is a classic.

Ann – hahahahahaha yes – there’s one moment where Bert nods as Patti Labelle goes off – like he’s thinking, “Sing it, sister” and it’s awesome!!!! Uptight Bert – God love him.
Holy cow, that was awesome. It was like a love song to the alphabet and a Gospel song about the alphabet all rolled up into one.
It makes me so happy to see her having such fun with it.

I also love to see Grover going absolutely hogwild, basically shouting “E F G H” at the top of his lungs.
