Her name is Hope.
She’s a little bit needy, so far. Frankly, she’s all over me. It’s a bit much. I also caught her following me from room to room at one point.
But I think it’ll work out just fine.
Meet Hope!
She came with the name. I got her at a shelter. If it had been a name like “Barbie” or something like that, I would have changed it. Maybe to Stockwell, or Calavicci or something more appropriate to my lifestyle. But I felt it would be very bad karma to change the name “Hope” to something else. So Hope it is.
She is now lying on my windowsill staring out at the green hot world outside and her purr fills the room.
She is only a year old.
I love her so much!
she’s beautiful — congrats!
Aw. Look at those eyes — gorgeous. Congratulations, Sheila!
Congratulations! I wasn’t a cat person until I got a cat, and now my ears perk up when I hear about other people’s cats. Hope looks like a sweetheart.
Congrats, Sheila. She’s a doll.
Awwww! As the proud mommy of two rescued kitties (Byron and Milton), I congratulate you and wish you both the best. And if you’re going to become a cat person, you should subscribe to http://www.icanhascheezburger.com – I’m sure you’ve seen it before, but just in case… Hopey might find some friends there!
I love how she has lines of black emanating from her eyes – like Cleopatra – or Barbra Streisand’s makeup in the late 60s. Very glamourous.
Stevie – Byron and Milton! Ha!! I love it!
Oh and both of my parents reminded me that “Hope” is the motto of the State of Rhode Island and Providence Plantations … so her name is kind of perfect after all.
Does she have sisters named Faith and Charity?
Her sisters are named Slut and Boozy Wench. Go figure.
oh Sheila!!! she’s so pretty!!!! you must be so happy.
she’s gonna LOVE the Nana when it gets colder..
Yeah!!!! So happy for you. xxx Stevie
Aww! Perfect roomie. Love her, and the name somehow fits. : )
Aaaawww, she’s magnificent, Sheila!! What a face!! I’m so happy for you.
xoxo,
Kate
She’s magnificent!!!!!!!
Awww, cute kitty!
I am looking at that beautiful picture and what do I see…. umm… Sammy???!
She’s adorable! And her name is perfect.
I’m giggling at the cats named Slut and Boozy Wench though.
OMG, she’s beautiful!!!! If Captain hadn’t been rendere ball-less, he could be her boyfriend. I guess he can be her adoring eunich.
I have two gray tabbies and let me tell you a weird little fact about them: Those stripes are not just in their fur but on their skin! When their tummies were shaved for surgeries we were kind of in awe and kind of creeped out. :)
She’s lovely, striped skin and all!
My post was about my cat today also. Hope is a wonderful name and a lovely kitty.
YAY!! She’s beautiful! I’m so happy for you – and for her.
See, this is why I’m not allowed in Pet Smart anymore – I want to adopt all the kittehs.
Hope is gorgeous! Such green eyes. Congratulations!
She is soooooo cute!!! Is she top secret or did you have to get permission? I am all worried about how you finally were able to be allowed to do this!!! Either way, she is so sweet (and her name is very fitting with Stevie’s recent post…)
Congratulations Sheila! There is nothing like loving a pet…and the love you get in return!
Jackie – she is very Sammy-ish! Only not so grey. She follows me around. She is very sweet and playful. She crawled into my lap within 1 hour of being at home with me and fell fast asleep. I am glad she felt comfortable with me!
I miss you. :(
Congrats Sheila!
The “tiger” cat is, of course, the greatest of the domestic short hairs — these cats will play fetch! Hours of entertainment. Have fun!
Liam
What a pretty kitty. Glad you’ve got Hope.
Awww, congrats to both of you! Hope is a beautiful name and a beautiful kitty. May you have many happy years “rooming” together. :)
i’m so happy for you sheila! i can’t wait to meet her.
i’m so happy for you sheila! i can’t wait to meet her.
she reminds me of sammy!
email siobhan 237 pics of her RIGHT away.
She’s awesome. Reminds me of my old cat, Whiskey, who had a hell of a personality.
She looks just like Savannah! Oh, I am all choked up! Congratulations, Sheila, this is such wonderful news. And I volunteer to be her home away from home whenever you need me. Hooray for kitties!
Welcome to the dark side! And thanks for adopting an adult kitteh; most people only want the kittens and puppies, and adult kittehs are probably the most likely to be killed in the shelters. Mwah, I love you.
She’s beautiful, and the name suits her perfectly. Congratulations!
