I came out of a screening last night and it was a little past 8 p.m. It was still light out, the first time I’ve really noticed how the days are getting longer. As I walked across 42nd Street, the bands of color in the sky at the end of the street were absolutely magnificent. I couldn’t believe it. It looked unreal. So I stepped out into the street and snapped this picture with my Phone. This is untouched, no Instagram, no filter. That’s what I actually saw. Thank you, Mother Nature.

Cities at night are just about my favourite thing. I love the hour or so just before it gets really dark, like you show here.
Yes – twilight time, with sunset light – everything looks so romantic and stark!
Gorgeous shot, Sheila. I love evenings this time of year … before the summer heat (and the smells) settle into the pavement, when one can still take the long way home and soak up the city. Thanks for sharing.
Thank you, Jane! Yes! With the cool spring breeze … the sunsets have been amazing. I honestly can’t stand New York in the summer – the humidity and the STINK – bah – I’m really enjoying this spring weather, even the rain – hope we have more of it!!
