I’m ready for autumn weather, too.

At least you don’t live in Evansville, IN, the Armpit of American. It’s hot, and humid. I think I was ready for all on July 4th.

  2. red says:

    Okay, Doug. You win!

  3. red says:

My favorite is how floppy and flat Hope gets in the heat – you pick her up and her paws just go slack over the side of my arm. It is very difficult to not squeeze her TO DEATH.

  4. Kate P says:

Aww, poor melt-y kitty. The artist/author SARK says, “Cats love cold lemonade on a hot day.” Hope must be ready for some! When cats let their paws dangle like that, I think of the “big cats” lounging up in trees who do the same thing. They’re really not so different sometimes, huh?

Maybe my cat is trying to usher in fall weather by sitting on my lap, which is her favorite thing to do in fall/winter. If she’s being all snuggly, why, then, it *must* be cooler out.

  5. red says:

Kate – Yeah, she’s not different at all from some huge sleeping lion – it’s really quite amazing!

Hope has been hanging out in the sink more and more these days. It’s so cute. We’re both ready for fall, though.

  6. Jayne says:

So am I!!! Wish I had a sink to curl up in.

  7. Dave E. says:

Hang in there, we have lows in the low 50s forecast for all week so it’s on the way. It very much feels like autumn here.

  8. red says:

Oh Dave – I love to hear that!! Are the leaves already turning up in your neck of the woods??

  9. Dave E. says:

The leaves haven’t really started to turn yet here, but I would guess that they are getting ready to on the North Shore. They probably have that faded green look right now. They should peak up there in about three to four weeks.

  10. red says:

Ahhhh … just thinking about it makes my happy. My favorite season!

It’s hot and muggy here. Like; hello. I have HAD IT.

(So has Hope … who is now lying on my kitchen floor in the shadow of one of my chairs … hahahaha like, it’s cooler there.)

It’s so sad … I just moved from Chicago, land of 90 degree Octobers, to central New York where I was promised early-September highs of 72. Instead, it’s been 87 here for days now, and my friends and family at home tell me it’s chilly and rainy there. My summer seasonal affective disorder is beginning to severely paralyze me.
