This brings back memories for me, too. Braces look a lot better on you than they ever did on me. And if I ever get my hands on the SOB who invented the headgear …
Rob – Oh God, no, braces looked HORRIBLE on me and I had to wear them for three godawful years! I am thankful I went thru all that, because my teeth are great now – but what misery!!!
I never did the headgear thing. I really should wear a nightguard now, because things tend to, you know, shift – but I really really hate mine.
I wore them for four years, went through two or three very uncomfortable headgear, had to attach rubber bands to them for a time, and then, a retainer for I don’t remember how long. Orthodontics was still a bit primitive in the 60s.
Love the photo. I didn’t smile with my mouth open when I wore them.
As self-conscious as I was about them at the time, I seem to remember everyone I know giving me an unsolicited “I hardly noticed them”. OK, yeah, thanks.
Oh my I had the same glasses. Not joking. I wonder if we are the same age as I had my braces at that time too.
