That “checks cashed” sign next to the Playpen always cracks me up a little. Back in the days before direct deposit and ATMs that kind of proximity was important. Or so I’m told.

Yes – once you have cashed your check you must proceed immediately to the Playpen because what else are you gonna do?
The Playpen was torn down last year. I’m so glad I got these pictures of the joint. It was a dump – but a truly classic building.
