It’s sweet and screwball, manic and poignant. Liked it a lot.

My review of Alexander and the Terrible, Horrible, No Good, Very Bad Day is now up at Rogerebert.com.

      thank you, brother. xoxo

I was pleasantly surprised. It was really funny! I read the book growing up. There are a couple of truly lunatic moments where the film soars up off the ground. Steve Carell on fire in a Japanese restaurant being one of them. All in all, it works!

Taking my niece to see this tonight, so I’m glad to read this! Looking forward to seeing it even more now!

It was super cute! My only real complaint was the underutlization of Megan Mullally. Well, and that the production of Peter Pan seemed awfully high budget for a middle school play. My entire family enjoyed it, though!

      Natalie – Cute, right?

it always cracks me up how movies NEVER really get how low-rent school plays are. They can’t help themselves somehow and make sets that would end up passing for an off-Broadway show.

(I loved the little girl sitting alone in the car rehearsing.)

And yes to Megan Mullally!! – you know what my favorite moment of hers was? She was walking down the hall, talking into the phone to Jennifer Garner – and she was PISSED and trying to control herself – and as she spoke, she pulled the phone out from behind her ear and around to the front so she could shout directly into it. SUCH a funny gesture of annoyance and I yearn to use it in my real-life.

Glad everyone had a good time!
