Don’t worry. None of us will ever forget Skyward. Ever.
No, seriously though, Kim Morgan is so spot on in that piece. I’ve read it before but it’s worth a reread. I always feel I owe a debt to Bette Davis, even though my allegiance has kind of switched to Barbara Stanwyck as of the last few years (I dig tough dames, apparently). I can pinpoint exactly when my movie obsession began, watching All About Eve the Christmas I was twelve. Total revelation, I’ve never looked back. Finishing my Leaving Cert coincided with a Bette Davis festival in town and I celebrated the day after my last exam by going to see The Letter, which I’d somehow missed. Glorious.
