This is so hip. You have no idea what you have tapped into.
I don’t? What makes you say that? lol
I have more – but just wanted to get the ball rolling!
Marilyn for the win
I fluctuate between her and Garbo!
LOVE this.
it’s fun, isn’t it?
I’m really feeling Carroll Baker’s look tonight. Can’t wait for Part 2.
Doesn’t she look amazing? I posted this as a gallery on Twitter like 3 days ago and people are still sending me pictures of stars in big sweaters. The thread exploded. Way more than I could handle! I love that people got so into it though.
Oh, man, just peeked over to look at that. What a profitable use of an hour! I think Toshiro Mifune needs his own sweater gallery <3
Agreed! Helena was responsible for most of those Mifune shots – she is all over those early Supernatural threads! I had no idea Mifune was a Sweater God.
Hahaha, loving the Mifune appreciation here!
And if you ever come across those photos of the young Mifune in a plain white T-shirt just make sure you are sitting down at the time.
I still lurk sorrowfully in the SPN threads, despite not having watched it since Season 12. Jenny, I love what you have to say, and here’s to an ending worthy of our heroes. I’m holding out a vain hope that it will in a mortal fight with a mighty dragon disturbed from slumber by gold thieves, with Wiglaf, aka Scooby Doo setting fire the Winchesters’ funeral pyre. However I get the feeling from all the plot stuff going on that the Winchesters will actually die in a freak car crash a la Isadora Duncan, caused by one of Rowena’s taffeta Scarves wrapping itself around the Impala’s steering column.
Helena!!! You are forever immortalized in my memory as the Tony Leung Eating poster – he immediately sprang to mind (I mean he is always ready to do so, he has his own set of ultra springy diving platforms in my consciousness) when Sheila was discussing JA and food AND THEN YOU WENT AND SAID IT. You probably have no recollection of this comment at all but it (and Sheila’s post) sent me scrambling back to Jessie screeching THESE ARE MY PEOPLE.
I should have recognized your work with Mifune.
A Viking funeral with the Impala rolling down 80 in flames while Shaggy blubbers into Fred’s ascot is how it’s ending for me, regardless of what November brings us.
I had a lot of fun watching that thread all day. I submit that the ’80s were the modern era’s version of the Golden Age of Sweaters. My daughter, a mid 80’s baby, says that I traumatized her by dressing her in what I think were super cute sweaters. I’m hoping Sheila has sparked a resurgence in sweater love
The sweaters in the 80s were crazy! The COLORS.
I had a red sweater with white sheep and there are thanksgiving pictures as proof
