Thank you, Dan for sending me the following link. For all I know, this “Red Sox” bar in the middle of Pinstripe-Hell has been around forever – but I’m only aware of Riviera.
28th and Madison. Boston (212).
I will have to keep this in mind when I desperately need to be around my own kind.
Most excellent! :-)
You’re most welcome.
We gotta go!!
Hey red, we all have our own concept of hell.
This weekend, I was on Cape Cod and had to endure more Red Sox love than is healthy for a nice boy from NY.
Then there was the guy in the pickup, who must have liked my New York plate and the Giants sticker on my car. He passed me, got in front of me and slowed down, probably to give me a good look at his own (Patriots guy pissing on Jets logo) sticker.
big sox fan, but i can’t imagine a worse place to watch a game than this boston 212 cafe. there’s plenty of other Sox bars in nyc, like the Hairy Monk or Harrison’s. But really, you’ll do better going to any old sports bar in Manhattan than this basement dive. it’s terrible!
Don’t listen to this Derek guy about the Boston 212. He’s been there once and has an ax to grind.
He badmouths Boston 212 on other Sox sites and has his own where is talks crap about the bar.
IT’s a new place that’s feeling its way along that will in time be alright. Give it a chance.
Boston 212’s not a bad place. It’s a bit dark, and could use some better lighting, but it has a friendly atmosphere and the food isn’t bad. Give it time as it could improve. I do agree that that guy Derek has something aginst Boston 212 that I don’t get.
Another good place to watch the Red Sox is Phebe’s in the East Village, on Bowery and E. 4th Street.
