They’re showing Panahi’s The Circle, Offside and Crimson Gold and also showing Rasoulof’s haunting film The White Meadows. There will be also be a panel discussion on March 2nd, moderated by Hamid Dabashi of Columbia University, with various speakers from universities, human rights organizations, and the film world. I will certainly try to attend as much of this as I can. My LA plans are accelerating, so I might miss the panel discussion, but I will do my best to make it.
I am thrilled it is coinciding by a couple of days with my quickly heating-up Iranian Film Blogathon. I have about 15 people already committed to writing pieces, and I am so looking forward to it.
Thank you, Asia Society, for hosting this important film tribute at this crucial time.
Again, all details here.
