…wonder if there is any connection between gerrymander, and gerrycan – as in small gasoline container?
Don’t think so, I’m pretty sure that the “Jerry can” etimology came from the slang for the Germans, who invented the can just prior to WWII. Besides I’m pretty sure Gov. Gerry was long dead before the first gallon of gasoline is refined. ;)
