Photo of the Day: Lady Justice greets the sun

I took this in Memphis, January 2013. The sunrise was stunning and I got some nice pictures but this one stood out. I have since gotten it enlarged and framed. That’s the Court park, I think it’s called. I was out of my mind – literally – in January, 2013. I was waking up in the early morning hours, 3:30, 4:00, because I felt like I needed to “get a jump on the day.” That thought – in those words – are now a danger signal to me. I thought it just recently actually – I had a lot of work and I thought, “Should wake up early tomorrow to get a jump on the day” and I am now so well-trained my conscious mind leapt in: “NO. DO NOT GET A JUMP ON THE DAY. DANGER DANGER DANGER.” Many of my pictures from this particular trip take place in the moments before dawn. I was wandering around Memphis before dawn. Sheila. It is a VERY dangerous city. Go back to bed. But if I was back in bed, I wouldn’t have taken this picture. So. It’s a problem.
