Whoa! Those waves are huge, Sheila. Scary. And mazeltov to the very tan girl for her tiny little butt –that’s almost entire visible.
I’m a grumpy old woman. I don’t know when this happened.
She also plays a kick-ass soccer game, as I witnessed, speaks in a Spanish accent, and was struggling to finish her summer reading list for the start of high school. I loved her!
It’s like a Rohmer film! Sheila At The Beach!
Sheila a la Plage.
hahaha
Oh, and the 4 girls in bikinis – there are two photos of them – were so much fun. They were all maybe 14 years old – so still unselfconscious enough to still be little girls. What they were doing in these photos is taking turns standing still, and trying to remain standing as the hurtling foam raced around their ankles. Many people were knocked over by the force of the waves. These girls did this for HOURS. Laughing hysterically as they would be knocked over, rolling around in the surf. They discovered that it would be better to have anchors – so then two of them would hold hands, and try to withstand the assault together – they would bury their feet down in the mud – but of course, the foam that was coming in was often over a foot high – and moving at what felt like the speed of freakin’ light.
Anyway, loved those 4 girls, basically PLAYING, like this, for hours.
See how in the second photo of that group – 2 girls stand holding hands. They were waiting for the foam to come. The other 2 girls would stand facing them, and judge them on how well they kept their balance.
It was an awesome game.
