Megan adds to the game:

Relationships in a paragraph.

I find these fascinating for some reason. Miniatures. Gold nuggets at the bottom of a sieve.

Here’s mine.

Capella has added hers as well.

These are so interesting. Like entire movies – or trailers to movies … you get the idea of it, the sense, an echo … but very little information. I’m loving them. Even when the paragraphs obviously express pain.

Okay….I’ve got to get this. I had no idea how difficult it would be. Both you guys literally described something so clear that all I needed was one paragraph.

    Wow.

  2. Jeff says:

    Here’s my shot:

We saw a lot of movies together. I liked Star Wars, Annie Hall, Network, and Rocky. She loved The Other Side of Midnight. It was a problem we never came close to solving.

When we go on road trips she has a supply of snacks that seems never-ending. She gives me guff every time I want a bite of something that I’d scoffed at before the trip began.

I find ancient supplies all the time.

Alex – yes, you have to do it! Want to read!!

  5. red says:

Jeff – I can definitely see how that might be a problem!

Thanks for adding yours to the game!

What a fun game. I only have one relationship worth commenting on.

The only things we had in common was a mutual love of hockey and beer. We also had good sex.

Hockey can only be expected to sustain a relationship for so long.

Sarah Brown of Que Sera Sera did these as well. I loved hers. http://queserasera.org/archives/001130.html

Emily – hahaha! Sounds like the perfect short-term relationship.

I want BADLY to do this, but it will probably take me a little while. I have actually thought before about doing something similar to this… how, between solid relationships and men I dated and guys who were around for a bit in some undefined way – I could write an autobiography of men, the impact they had, the things they left behind, etc. There’s a thread amongst these relationships for me and I have always imagined I would write it all down someday.

    Um, I dated a LOT. :)

Anyway, I am going to take a crack at it this weekend and drop you a line if and when I manage to put those paragraphs together.

    I loved yours, Sheila.

Marisa – Please let me know when you post whatever you post. Yeah, some of my guys here are people I went on 1 or 2 dates with – but everyone leaves SOME impression behind … interesting. I’d love to read yours.

We sat in the corner of the park’s path, an abandoned park bench left under the trees. Had a bottle of red wine between us. The eucalyptus swayed and peeled its bark in the hot summer wind. He lit me a cigarette. I took it, stabbed the air to make my point, swigged from my cup. We talked, argued, debated and sat quiet together, until the sun came down, ourselves then making our way down the hill back to the city below.

  12. Marisa says:

Sheila – you said to let you know, so this is just a heads-up. I posted my “relationships in one paragraph.” The hardest thing was deciding which ones to include. I always have too much to say.
