The annual Welcome Home Red Sox party is happening this Friday, April 4, and it’s being hosted (as it has for a bunch of years now) by my cousin Mike. During the long winter months, there are moments when I feel an uneasy ungraspable sense that something is wrong, something’s … “off”. I can’t quite put my finger on it. Then baseball starts up again and I realize that that’s what I have been missing. So it’s good to have it starting up again.
Boston fans, here are the deets for this Friday. Tickets on sale now, and all proceeds go to Red Sox charities benefiting at-risk children.
And I mean, please: co-host cousin Mike O’Malley and Kevin Millar??? I wish I could be there.
If you were a lifelong Red Sox fan (or, hell, a fan of any team), and then were in a position to host their annual party, would you not be so psyched? Not to mention the unforgettable moment, mythic now in the O’Malley History, when THIS occurred.
Proud of you, cuz!
Break legs Friday.
Red Sox: check. Very excited to see these guys. Or, as a high-rolling baseball genius put it yesterday, down 2-1 in the seventh: “Oh, right. Baseball is a vile, horrible feeling that lasts for six+ months. I forgot about that.”
hahahahaha
