Love it when you do posts like this. They’re all great, but as always, I really fall in love with the night and/or low light shots. This little camera of yours kicks ass in those situations. That 8th ave peep show neon girl is totally cool, but I really love that Times Square at dawn shot…how that pink morning light is visible at the end of the urban canyon that’s still fully lit up.
Thanks, Noonz! Yeah, there is nothing quite like Times Square at dawn. Amazing. I love it on a rainy dawn, too.
My camera is great! I wish it had more of a zoom – that is my only complaint. Whenever I get a new one, I’ll make sure it has that.
Great colors!
Love the collage of photos – so does my dad, the eternal NY fan!
I know I’ve told you this before, but I’ll say it again: your pictures make me want to pick up and move over there asap. Do you need a roommate? Well, actually, four roommates? ;-)
Amanda – Ha!! If you don’t mind sleeping in sleeping bags on the floor!
The photo of the theatre district reminds me of one of the images they’d flash to in an old movie to demonstrate that they were in the bustling city now.
Patrick – Yeah, I can’t believe that one came out! I was very pleased with it.
i love it all [[and appreciate being able to see it all through you, sheila, since i’ve never been to new york]]…
but i *especially* love love love the colour contrasts in the st. pauls picture, and the brilliant blue of the tribeca storefront!
you just made my day. ^_^
amelie – I know! I can’t even tell what that Tribeca store is, really – but I loved the color and the little bench. It looked like it was from an old town in Europe or something. Tribeca still has pockets that are entrepreneurial like that, individualized – it’s very cool.
i’ve just googled the store name — Moulin Bleu is a “European home decor and antiques” store — how appropriate is that look for it!!
