Outstanding!
Just out of curiosity, what was the water temperature like? We just got back from a week in Santa Cruz where it was a “balmy” 61 degrees. Unfortunately, there was no surf to speak of, which is unusual. But the sea lions were coming within 6 feet of people, which is also unusual and made up for it.
Warm – beautiful!! A great white had been spotted a couple beaches up the day before we arrived. Awesome!
Wow, I’m jealous – it would be nice to be able to swim in the ocean and not have to keep track of your time in the water by the moments where your limbs lose all feeling. Fortunately, it doesn’t seem to bother my kids. And there really is nothing quite like swimming in the ocean.
Isadora, eat your heart out.

Although, may I add: How cute is he??
This is so funny!! That wind was nasty… but he conquered it – the ending is just perfect, with him going to face the crashing waves. Wonderful choreography!
Also, the water goggles are a nice touch… I smiled all through the picture sequence, he’s so cute! ;)

That was great! What a fun way to enter the water! I think I’ll try that…although down here on the Gulf Coast it will probably look more like Im trying to get through a wall of washed up seaweed…ugh!!
Oh, was gonna say – I am SO unused to seeing seawater that is blue – Gulf Coast water is gumbo brown…which is probably why I never developed a desire to splash around in sea water…too many childhood memories of scraping tar off my legs and hoping I didnt step on a wayward crab…

Terrific! He is really creative, and the photography does it justice. Gorgeous sky that day.
The kayak in the background made me a little jealous. :-) I lost my glasses two years ago surf kayaking on the Outer Banks. I should have left them on the beach, but I had my oldest with me (6 at the time) and I wanted to pick a good entry line because I’d never done it before and he’d only just learned to swim. There are a number of same-day optometrists in Corolla, it turns out, so all’s well that ends well.
Now I’ve had LASIK and I can see!, I can’t wait to get back down there and kayak in the surf for a week straight.
I love how he disappears into the ocean!
